Funding Schemes

The QERDP funds events via six schemes – core funding, core advanced, the Regional Event Innovation Scheme (REIS), the Premier’s Development Grants, the Significant Regional Event Scheme (SRES) and the Major Regional Event Scheme (MRES).

All eligible events are encouraged to apply for support under the core and core advanced funding programs.

To be eligible for Core Advanced funding, events must have received $120,000 or more in funding from the QERDP and must not have been funded under SRES. Core Advanced funding provides up to $25,000 funding each year for three years specifically for employment of staff to market and/or manage the event.

Events are selected (they cannot apply) for REIS funding which offers targeted assistance to take an area of focus to the next stage.

Premier's Development Grants are also available by selection only and assist new or developing events in reaching the next level of success.

Events which have a proven track record of sustained growth under the QERDP core funding program can apply for additional funding under the SRES, which celebrates the state’s most outstanding regional events and is designed to maximise the outcomes and performance of these events.

After receiving funding under the SRES program , an event may apply for MRES funding to secure growth over a further three year period, establishing itself as a permanent attraction in a regional area.

More information on the different QERDP programs is in the Application Guidelines.
